Tossed blankets of thick blue clouds shadowed the land in patches, darkening the colors in the grass and trees below. Morning alarm rays of brilliant sunshine pierced through in slanted columns as the landscape yawned and stretched before Skylar, walking diagonally through a furrowed field of cereal grains bordered by milky wildflowers. Thunder rumbled somewhere far off to the north

He let them fall through choked sobs, until his nose started leaking too. He wiped his eyes with the underside of his wrist and looked around for a tissue. A dark night permeated his room through the open window, and moonlight touched the edges of the bed and bookshelf in its pa

Couple of announcements I've been too lazy to make, despite the excitement they generate when I say their names out loud. Behold, some pictures that will save me the trouble of typing them all out: The first one's in Newberry, as I have been summering in the UP as part of an imagination and creativity recharging wilderness sabbatical. To my pleasant surprise, there is a good amount of indie book stores up here (stayed tuned for more announcements and events up here if you're

Behold, the flyer... or is it 'fiier?' Or is this one of those cases where both are acceptable? As a writer I should know this... I will be hosting a local author talk at Grand Rapids' own "proudly progressive, consciously curated, and fiercely independent" bookstore, Books & Mortar, at the beginning of next month as a part of the community's First Fridays event series. Besides the fact that it makes me feel like a master wizard crafting his own spellbooks, here

I, Pat Bitt, am pleased to officially unveil and announce Demokratia to the literate public of the world. Demokratia is a new adventure fantasy novel set for release on March 25, 2025. You can preorder the eBook and paperback editions here on the website store for $10 and $19.99 respectively. There will also be a special $24.99 edition of the paperback that I'll sign and draw a random doodle in, for those who want more handiwork on their handcrafted novel. I've rewritten all

Author self-portrait (Darwin edition) Hello hello, and welcome to my domain. My name is Pat Bitt. I’m an author, and this is my website. The plan is for it to grow as the primary interface between me and my audience and to serve as a central station for all things related to my stories, books, and any other creative projects I come up with. For any news, updates, and announcements regarding my career, you’ll read it here first. Social media is all third-hand news, anyway.
